Understanding Torque Gauges and Systems

Torque gauges help measure various force measurements such as rotating, twisting, and turning. They’re generally used in oil rigs and drilling fields for pipe weights. Torque systems have a two-fold purpose: they provide accurate torque measurements and preventing the weight from over-turning or under-turning.

Many industries, and not just oil fields, require precise torque measurements. Modern engines are required to have better rotating speeds for better mechanical performance. With torque gauges, rotation speed as well as an engine’s mechanical power is calculated with precision.

What Torque Systems Help You Do

In addition to measuring torque and giving you a basic idea of how well your machine is doing, torque systems can help you achieve the right speed of rotation that you need to make your machine more efficient. A tong torque system, for example, contains torque gauges and compression cells among other things, used for tongs, and helping drilling companies to get to the right amount of torque they need.
